We were commissioned by Southwark Council to create a design for a green space, which had been left derelict. We used earth as our main building material, in order to preserve a natural space within a concrete landscape. Raising parts of the ground we added new functions and gave the space an identity. We built a landscape that invites children to play and residents to relax outside. The green space was built with the help of the local residents. David Haye, world heavyweight boxing champion, who grew up on the estate, officially opened the park. In collaboration with Richard Knowles.
